Abacus Tax & Books is a trusted and reputable accounting services based in Fort Mill, South Carolina, providing solutions for small business owners, freelancers, and self-employed individuals who are looking for support with their bookkeeping, accounting, and annual income tax preparations.

When Thomas filed his first tax return, something clicked. He filled out his taxes on the old NCR paper—the first one was white and the second was pink. He kept the yellow copy underneath.
Self-preparing taxes came naturally to him, but when one of his close family members got a lien on her bank account for back taxes, the situation stuck with Thomas. To this day, he helps others make sure their taxes are filed on time and accurate, so they won’t receive letters from the IRS or have them take a lien on anyone’s bank account.
After becoming a bookkeeper for his family’s businesses, Thomas was hired by the previous owner of Abacus Tax & Books. He became a partner in the company in 2018.
Thomas became the full owner of Abacus Tax & Books when he bought the business on Jan. 1, 2022. With 15 years of bookkeeping experience and five years of tax preparation expertise, Thomas serves as the main tax preparer at Abacus Tax & Books. His favorite part of running the business is helping his clients with tax planning and strategy, including navigating any complicated parts of tax returns to maximize deductions.
Thomas resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife, Catherine, and their daughter, Mary. The couple is expecting another child in June.
